The Golden Triangle geography in Asia also encompasses the borderlands of Arunachal Pradesh on the eastern side of India where it shares the boundaries with Myanmar. Brought by the British during the colonial rule in India, Opium or Kaani (as the wanchos call it locally) has been destroying generations in Arunachal Pradesh with its addiction. It is mostly smoked and is a social activity plaguing the wancho tribe.
The film is in tribal Wancho language made with the objective of increasing awareness locally (amongst the Wanchos > other neighbouring and ailing tribes) of the rich Wancho tribe culture, rituals and traditions and the issues of Opium addiction. Shot in a documentary style with interviews, this film was made with the support of MoHW, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, and few champions of the society.
